About ElectroCAD

A suite of AutoCAD plugins designed in Switzerland for electrical professionals.

Our mission

ElectroCAD est né d'une observation simple : les bureaux d'études électriques et les installateurs utilisent majoritairement AutoCAD, mais perdent un temps considérable sur des tâches répétitives — insérer des symboles, numéroter des fils, nettoyer des fichiers lourds, exporter des PDF par lot. Les logiciels dédiés du marché sont puissants mais coûteux (2'000 à 5'000+ CHF/an et par poste) et nécessitent plusieurs mois d'apprentissage.

The 3 pillars of the electrical trade covered

ElectroCAD addresses the three pillars of an electrical engineering office's daily work:

  • Electrical schematics (single-line, multi-line, multi-sheet file, cross-page references, terminal blocks, PLC) via ElectroSchema
  • Plans (floor plan, working drawing, lighting plan with EN 12464-1 luminaire layout, EB_* trade layers) via ElectroBlocs and the module CALEP
  • Project file planning (material schedules for quotations, legends, automatic tables of contents, deliverable batch PDF export, SIA 380/4 and EN 12464-1 compliance) via ElectroCAD Tools

The three modules can be used together (Ultimate pack) or separately, depending on your needs.

ElectroCAD is an independent product. We are not affiliated with Autodesk. AutoCAD is a registered trademark of Autodesk, Inc.

Our code is developed in C# on .NET 8 and uses AutoCAD's public APIs (accoremgd, acdbmgd, acmgd) in a documented way.

The founder

ElectroCAD est porté par son fondateur, projeteur électricien et développeur basé en Suisse. Avec plus de quinze années d'expérience comme projeteur en bureau d'études — schémas unifilaires et multifilaires, dossiers SIA 451, exécution sur AutoCAD au quotidien — il a vu de l'intérieur les irritants qui font perdre des heures à chaque projet : symboles à ressaisir, renvois de page manuels, nettoyage de DWG, génération de présentations A4, exports PDF par lot.

Frustrated by the gap between overly expensive dedicated tools (2'000 to 5'000+ CHF per year and per workstation) and raw AutoCAD with no trade intelligence, he started coding his own commands in C# on .NET 8 in 2024. Those commands became ElectroCAD, a professional suite used today by engineering offices and installers in Switzerland, France and Belgium.

Claimed areas of expertise: low-voltage electrical schematic design, Swiss standards NIBT 2020 and SIA 451, international standards IEC 60617 / IEC 61346 / IEC 61439, lighting design EN 12464-1, IfA18 exchange format, AutoCAD automation via the .NET API.
