Installation in 3 steps
- Create a free account on electrocad.ch/register — you receive an immediate confirmation email.
- Download the installer from your dashboard (.exe file, approx. 140 MB).
- Launch the installer and AutoCAD — the ElectroCAD ribbon appears automatically at the next AutoCAD startup.
Windows SmartScreen warning
Windows Defender may show the “Windows protected your PC” alert on first launch with the message "Unknown publisher". This is normal behaviour for any recent installer that has not yet built its SmartScreen reputation with Microsoft.

How to bypass the warning:
- In the SmartScreen dialog, click « Additional information » (small link under the title)
- Click « Run anyway » at the bottom of the dialog
- The installation starts normally — the warning will no longer appear on this machine
Manually verify authenticity:
Each release publishes its SHA-256 fingerprint in your dashboard. Compare it with the one shown by Windows (right-click the .exe > Properties > Digital Signatures or via PowerShell):
Get-FileHash .\ElectroCAD_Setup_X.Y.Z.exe -Algorithm SHA256Authenticode signing certificate currently being deployed (Microsoft Trusted Signing) — this warning will disappear permanently once signing is activated.
In case of installation problems

Unsupported versions
AutoCAD 2020 to 2024 — Incompatible .NET runtime (uses .NET Framework or .NET 6, ElectroCAD uses .NET 8).
