EB_LEGENDE — Automatic generation of symbol legends

The EB_LEGENDE command generates the legend of the symbols present in a plan or diagram: each pictogram used is listed with its designation, its IEC 60617 reference where applicable and its number of occurrences. The legend updates if the drawing changes.

A legend required on every dossier

The symbol legend is required on every delivered plan (NIBT and SIA 451): a third party must be able to understand the documentation without ambiguity. EB_LEGENDE scans the drawing and builds this reference page from only the symbols actually present, sorted by family (protective devices, control devices, socket outlets and connections, luminaires, automation, low-current systems).

Legend content

  • Pictogram — the symbol as it appears on the drawing
  • Description — the symbol's trade label
  • Reference IEC 60617 — when it applies
  • Number of occurrences — useful for quantity take-off and quotation

The legend is usually placed as a bottom strip or a right-hand column of the plan, on a dedicated layer. It regenerates to stay up to date when symbols are added or removed.
